Kenito!An email came to my FSC address about the trip: get your calendar out! Tuesday, March 15th at 5 pm at Ordway, we have the first meeting about the trip... I think you have class at that time. (or that's when your class starts). But I think you're going to have to tell your professor that you can't go cuz it's mandatory:MANDATORY Orientation Meeting #1Introduction and Welcome - Dr. Garcia Dean Susan Conner Plane Ticket Reservations - John from Far Away Travel Go over Student Check List - Adele Go over Do's and Don'ts - Dr. Garcia and Adele Question and Answer STUDENT CHECK LISTBEFORE You Leave ~ Recent Passport ~ Visa to enter Spain (IF you are NOT a US citizen check website to see if your country applies) ~ Spending Money (CC, Travelers checks, some cash $100-$200) ~ Have any Medicines you use daily and/or frequently ~ Buy Pain Killers, Motion Sickness Medicine, Allergy Medicine IN Your Luggage ~ Transformer (Can be bought at Radio Shack for $20.00) ~ Pocket Dictionary and/or Phase book (We ALL get Spanish-Block sometimes) ~ Alarm Clock (You are required to be at school on time) ~ Portable CD player or Good Book (for those 8 hr plane rides and long bus rides) ~ Jacket (when we get there it WILL be cold) ~ Some Light Winter Clothing (Sweaters, long pants, long sleeve tops) ~ Summer Clothes ~ Beach Clothes and Towel DO's and DON'Ts while in SPAIN DO Take the time to talk with and get to know your host family. DO Buy a 6euro Phone card and let you family in the US know you are safe. DO Use the MANY internet cafes around town DO Come to school everyday. DO Show up ON TIME for all excursions and trips. DO Take advantage of the excursions the school offers. DO Try to speak Spanish at all times. DO Ask questions in class if you don't understand. DO Try to make friends with the Spanish people. DO Be OPEN minded to different things. DO Try different foods during meals at home. DO Go out and have fun DO Be wise and travel in groups DON'T Use the phone in your house DON'T Go out at night with ALL your credit cards and/or passport (Always go out with Cash or ONE credit card!!! Ladies if you can survive without a purse, use those pockets!!) DON'T Insult the Spanish Culture, People and/or Customs!! YEY! ESTOY MUY EXCITIDO!
